After the client's artwork was received, Atomic created a CAD drawing of the design and how it would interface with the outdoor location. The agencies, installer and climbers agreed on a method of fabrication. Shop drawings were created and the fabrication began. Time was allowed for the professional rock climbers to come in and set their own climbing path.
Planning & Design
Three 48’ conestoga's were loaded with parts and shipped from Minneapolis, MN to Times Square, New York where the installation company began setting the frames for the rock wall. Multiple permits, street closings and long nights later, the installation was completed. The climbing wall spans over 100 vertical feet and is ready for real climbers.
Toyota was able to capture the attention of visitors, workers, and New York Auto Show attendees as
world-class climbers ascended the wall over a 4-day event. The project has also created a buzz for Toyota through spectators and viewers sharing their experiences on social media.
